Privacy Policy for AirHorizon
Last updated: August 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Valerii Nikolaev ("we," "us," "our," or the "developer") handles information in connection with the AirHorizon iOS and iPadOS application (the "App"). AirHorizon is designed to process flight display data on your device. We do not require an account, sell personal information, or use third-party advertising or third-party analytics SDKs in the App.
Information Processed by the App
AirHorizon may process the following information on your device to provide its features:
- device motion and orientation data, including accelerometer, gyroscope, and device-motion output;
- heading or compass data when heading features are used;
- location-derived data, such as course, speed, altitude, and related accuracy values, when flight data or heading features require it and permission is granted;
- barometric or pressure-sensor data where supported by the device and selected by the user;
- local-network telemetry received from a simulator or other user-configured source, which may include pitch, roll, heading, speed, altitude, and flight-director cues;
- App settings and preferences, such as calibration, display style, units, trims, night-vision settings, and premium feature preferences;
- purchase and entitlement status provided by Apple StoreKit.
The sensor, telemetry, and settings data listed above is used to operate App features and is not sent to the developer's servers. Purchase and entitlement status is described separately under "Purchases and Subscriptions" and "Subscription and Purchase Events" below.
Location, Motion, Barometer, and Local Network Permissions
AirHorizon requests permissions only when needed for features that use those capabilities. You can allow or deny permissions in iOS Settings.
Location and heading services may be used for heading, speed, altitude, course, and related flight-data displays. Motion and barometric data may be used for attitude, calibration, and altitude-related displays. Local Network access may be used to receive simulator telemetry from a source configured by you on your local network.
If a permission is denied or unavailable, the related feature may be limited, unavailable, or less accurate.
External Telemetry and Simulators
When you enable external telemetry features, AirHorizon may listen for data on the local network from a simulator or other user-configured source. The App processes that telemetry locally for display and guidance features. AirHorizon does not transmit that telemetry to the developer.
Your simulator, router, operating system, local network, or other third-party tools may process network data under their own terms and privacy practices. Those systems are outside the developer's control.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases, subscriptions, trials, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment details are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. AirHorizon receives entitlement information from Apple so it can unlock or lock paid features. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Subscription and Purchase Events
Apple sends the developer an App Store Server Notification when there is activity on a purchase or subscription for the App — for example a trial, a renewal, a cancellation, a billing problem, an expiry, or a refund. This is a server-to-server message from Apple; the App itself does not transmit this information from your device.
These notifications describe the transaction, not your identity. They contain details such as the product identifier, the price and currency, the App Store storefront country, the app build number, relevant dates, how long a subscription has been active, whether the purchase is Family Shared, and a pseudonymous Apple transaction identifier. They do not contain your name, email address, Apple Account, payment card details, device model, or location.
The developer receives these notifications on a serverless endpoint hosted by Cloudflare, which processes them in transit without storing them, and forwards a summary to a private Telegram chat with a bot that only the developer can read. The Apple transaction identifier is truncated before it is forwarded, so the message keeps only enough of it to connect events belonging to the same subscription. This information is used solely for the developer's own purposes, primarily analytics: how many subscriptions start, renew, or end, and the overall health of the App's paid features. It is never used for advertising, never combined with data from other sources, never sold, and never shared with data brokers.
Cloudflare and Telegram act as service providers for this data and may process it outside your country of residence. We share it with them only to the extent described above, and we require that they provide the same or equal protection of user data as set out in this Privacy Policy. We do not authorize them to use it for their own purposes.
These messages are not linked to an account, an email address, or any identifier you could give us. We deliberately do not collect anything that would let us connect them to you — which also means we are not able to locate your records if you ask us to. We will not delete records on the basis of an unverified description, because responding to such a request would itself confirm to whoever asked that a matching purchase exists. Where a controller cannot identify a data subject, data protection law does not require it to collect additional information for the sole purpose of enabling such requests.
We keep these messages only for as long as they are useful for monitoring the App's paid features. Cancelling your subscription in your Apple Account settings stops any further events from being generated.
Data Storage and Retention
AirHorizon stores App settings and preferences locally on your device. These settings may be included in device backups depending on your Apple and iOS backup settings. Deleting the App generally removes locally stored App data from the device, subject to Apple backup and restore behavior.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising networks. We do not intentionally share your sensor, location, barometer, or external telemetry data with the developer or third parties.
Information may be processed by Apple or other third-party platform providers when you use operating-system services, App Store purchases, Safari or web links, GitHub Pages-hosted legal pages, device backups, or other platform features. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Links to External Websites
The App may open external websites, including legal pages, support links, App Store subscription management, or third-party documentation. We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of external websites.
Children's Privacy
AirHorizon is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions may be posted in the App, on our website, or otherwise made available. Your continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy is made available means you acknowledge the updated policy.
